Fragile Restoration
This work explores the fragility of the human body. Using plaster bandages to cast fragments of my face and body, I was interested in how the delicate material creates a form that has strength and structure to it. Plaster bandages are used to immobilise broken bones through orthopedic casts, which enhances the process of healing. The medical purpose of the plaster bandages serves as a metaphor for the fragile nature and restorative power of the human body.
